Tenby Ladies Anniversary Day
Tenby ladies, sponsored by Tenby House Hotel, celebrated their 55th anniversary with their traditional triples competition last Wednesday. Clubs from around the county were invited to play against the host club.
Captain Lynn welcomed everyone, including West Wales Ladies Bowling Association president, Gwen Hale, who was invited to play for Tenby.
Five rinks of triples did battle over 18 ends, with the team having the highest shot difference receiving the anniversary shield.
The winners were the Haverfordwest team of Lynn Jenkins and Sandy Bevan, skipped by Jenny Harris, who stepped in from Neyland. They scored 28 points, and the Tenby team of Liz, Katie and Gerry were runners-up with 21.
Captain Lynn presented the shield and a delicious tea, prepared by the ladies of the club, was enjoyed. President Gwen gave a vote of thanks, which was followed by a raffle.
It was a successful day, with lovely weather and excellent company.
Tenby 96 (12 pts)
Milford Haven 62 (2)
On Wednesday, July 5, Tenby Sharks welcomed Milford Haven on a glorious summer evening.
The Tenby team first had a team photo with Patrick Jenkins, who represented their generous sponsors from the Giltar Hotel, Tenby. The team thanks both Patrick and Malcolm Brace from the Giltar Hotel for their sponsorship.
The Sharks produced a solid performance once again, picking up 12 points out of 14, which keeps them in the mix for the league championship.

L. Rees, S. Peregrine, P. Diment, K. Peregrine 23; L. Power 15.
D. Rees, C. Morse, M. Jackson, A. Muskett 33; E. Sturley 11.

Tenby Arches Ladies v Pembroke Dock
Last Monday, Tenby Arches ladies welcomed Pembroke Dock to their green for the return game, on a rain free afternoon.
On rink one, Pembroke Dock got off to a good start, picking up a six on the third end, followed by a three. The Tenby team of Margaret, Katie, Lynn and Jo came back steadily and it was 10-11 to Pembroke Dock at the half-way point.
The rest of the game was extremely close as everyone settled down and it was 16-all after the 14th end. They went into the last end with Tenby just leading by 21 shots to 18. With everything to play for, Pembroke Dock scored three, so the final score was an honourable draw of 21 each.
On rink two, Liz, Meryl, Jan and Gerry started slowly and were 3-10 down after seven ends. Winning the next three ends got them back in the game and they then got into their rhythm and by the 14th end had secured a narrow lead. Picking up a four on the 16th end boosted their confidence and they won eight out of the last nine ends.
The game ended with Tenby 25 Pembroke Dock 14.
Thank you Tenby House for your continued support.
