TWO young boys, who ran over 70 miles during the Tenby Aces Advent Challenge, donated well over £1,000 to a hospital ward at the weekend.
Archie Garland (aged 6) and Jesse Morgan (aged 7) have been praised by their parents for quickly rising to the challenge at Christmas for a cause close to their hearts. Their goal was to complete one mile each every day and, in doing so, raise money for Singleton Hospital Neonatal Unit, Swansea.
The staff at this specialist ward of the hospital had been instrumental in helping their parents’ friends Scott Malson and Jodie Hughes whose daughter Willow was born 12 weeks premature and who had to be rushed there from Glangwili Hosptial in Carmarthen.
The two boys ran over 70 miles and, having raised the incredible sum of £1,170, they travelled to Swansea with Scott, Jodie and Willow to present the incredible sum to the ward on Sunday afternoon (February 22).
Archie’s dad Rob Garland said: “We are so proud of these two incredible young men; they went out to do their challenge in some horrendous weather in the lead up to Christmas and also when both of them became ill and not feeling very well.
Rickie Morgan (Jesse Father) “these two boys have shown what lovely characters they have, and both of them jumped at the chance to raise money on behalf of Willow and for the specialist baby care unit. We are so proud of them.
This was Archie’s second year doing an Aces Advent Challenge; last year he raised over £600 for Tenby RNLI. Let’s see what challenge awaits these boys in 2026!
