A BOXING and fitness club in Pembroke Dock is in line for an £800 boost to enable the purchase of 10 head guards and 10 pairs of sparring gloves for juniors.

Dockers ABC & Fitness runs junior classes twice a week where all children are treated as individuals and kept engaged and active. Classes include juniors and adults who have problems such as ADHD, autism, obesity, social emotional issues and lack of communication skills. The classes currently serve 23 to 30 members.

At the meeting of the Town Council on Thursday (June 5), councillors agreed to accept the recommendation of the Finance Committee and accept the application for funding.

Two other applications were denied, however, as they were from national charities.
