AS part of Milford Waterfront’s Festival of the Sea celebrations, The Waterfront Gallery is hosting Fantasy Sea Creatures Workshops - free creative children’s workshops on Sunday, March 1, from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

There will be two workshops available run simultaneously by resident artists Lesley Dearn and Gina Hughes. The workshops will be drop-in sessions - no need to book, suitable for ages 4+ (children must be accompanied by an adult). There will be space for six children at a time for each 30-minute workshop. All materials and tools provided.

Gina Hughes’ clay activity workshop will explore the texture of modelling in clay with children having fun making fish and small sea creatures found in the waters around the coastline of Pembrokeshire – at the end of the session children will take their sea creatures home.

Lesley Dearn’s workshop starts with simple watercolour printing, blot and stencilling techniques to create magical fantasy sea creatures, bringing them to life using drawing, painting, stencilling and collage. Children will be able to make several paintings to take home.

It presents a great opportunity for stimulating the imagination, exploring materials and a chance for screen-free space for children and families to create magic together.
