SANDY Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity will host its very first Ladies Day in May 2026, bringing together fizz, food, live music and laughter in support of children and young people who have experienced the death of someone close to them.

Tickets went on sale this week, and every penny raised will go directly towards Sandy Bear’s bereavement support services, which now support thousands of children, young people and families each year across Pembrokeshire and wider Wales.

Ladies Day will take place on Sunday, May 24 at the Black Diamond Room at Hook Sports and Social Club. Guests will enjoy Prosecco on arrival, afternoon tea prepared by The Bearded Chefs, live music from Preseli Pete and the Bluestone Boys, and a raffle featuring a range of prizes.

The organisers are keen to stress that the day is first and foremost about enjoying great company and having a fantastic time, while knowing that the money raised will make a real and lasting difference. Funds raised will help Sandy Bear continue to provide early, specialist support that can change and, in some cases, save young lives by helping children process grief before it becomes overwhelming.

Children’s bereavement is often hidden, but its impact can be profound. With the right support at the right time, children are better able to cope, thrive and move forward. Sandy Bear’s work helps ensure no child has to grieve alone.

Like many charities, Sandy Bear faced significant financial pressures last year, at a time when demand for its services was growing rather than slowing. Fundraising events such as Ladies Day play a crucial role in ensuring that support remains available for families when they need it most.

Tickets are priced at £35 per person, limited to 120 guests, with tables of eight available. Early booking is encouraged. Visit www.sandybear.co.uk/sandy-bear-ladies-day .
