TENBY Town Council will have a new member around the table in the New Year - and someone who should be well versed with council etiquette, having married one of the resort’s former Mayors earlier this year!

Former Mayoress of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Skyrme-Blackhall will now join her husband on the town council, Clr. Laurence Blackhall (who served as the town’s Mayor in 2016/17), after taking over the North Ward seat vacated by John Griffiths, who left the role in October.

Pembrokeshire County Council had received a request for a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy created by Clr. Griffiths’s resignation, but the seat was uncontested meaning that there will be no call for an election in the New Year.

Councillors are now in a position to co-opt for the vacancy left by Clr. Ben James, who also stepped down from his position as a town councillor in September.
