SPORTING Christmas themed jumpers, earrings, necklaces and brooches, Carew WI members gathered for the last meeting of 2025.

All expressed their thanks to Nikki at WI House who has stepped down as Secretary for PFWI before they shared together the contents of this months newsletter. Ruth was congratulated on winning the Bisley Munt Cup for the second time with her painting ‘Pembrokeshire meadow’.

WI resolutions for 2026 will be debated in the January meeting.

President Edith informed everyone of the new commissioner for the elderly in Wales - Rhian Bowen Davies, who is available to assist with any issues affecting or concerning Welsh residents.

Thoughts turned to the planning of the Penfro Carol Service at Carew Wesley Chapel (December 22, 3pm).

Mince pies, sausage rolls, tea and coffee added to the festive feeling after which the choral group joined together to practise for their contribution to the Carol Service.

The January 2026 meeting will be a games afternoon including indoor Kurling.

President Edith wished all members a Happy Healthy Christmas and Peaceful New Year before everyone joined in the customary singing of Away in a Manger.
