A beautiful day saw The Clicketts host touring side Gwernyfed, for Tenby Swifts Under 11s’ final match of the season.
Gwernyfed began strong and were soon racking up the tries. Tenby fought back well with some good tackles and some good ball control. Two tries scored by Eddie saw the half-time score settle at 4-2 to Gwernyfed.
The second half saw some good play by both teams, but Gwernyfed became the stronger side with Tenby seeming to come somewhat off the boil. Gwernyfed’s tries came thick and fast and although Eddie managed two more tries and Cody also crossed the try line to score for Tenby, the final score rested at 11-5 to Gwernyfed.
Although the Swifts came off the losing side, the camaraderie between the teams and coaches post match was commendable.
Team for Tenby: Cody, Eddie, Deri, George, Fin, Rhys E, Zak, Iwan.
Tenby?Under 8s
Well what a season the Under 8s have had, boy only have they won most of their games, there has been some massive improvements from Raph playing his first game to Iori scoring his first try! But most of all, they are starting to play well as a team, with some great sportsmanship and a lot of courage in some case, we are proud of every single one of our team for all of their personal achievements!
So that’s it, on Saturday, they played their last ever game of tag rugby and what a lovely morning it was. They hosted two touring teams. They drew the first game and won the second. They boys all played so well with great tagging and passing. They are all now very much looking forward to next season when they will be playing contact.
Thanks again to all the parents for their continued support, all the boys that give it their all every Thursday at training and matches on a Sunday. A huge thank you to coaches, Jimmy Davies and Nick Guymer.
Pictured are Raph, Dylan, Harry, Aidan, sonny, Cian, Iori and Jake! Bye bye tags! Missing from the photo are Ollie, Callum, Calum, Charlie, Jenson, Tedd, Jack. Well done boys.
