PRESENTATION EVENING
Members and friends gathered last Friday at Saundersfoot Bowling Club for their annual presentation evening.
Tournament secretary Paul Blayney commenced proceedings by thanking those who had supported and marked the club competitions and congratulated all the finalists.
He then gave a short resume of the season, giving special mention to Gemma Amos, Steph Amos, Ceris Hewlings and Naomi Fleming, who had again received international recognition and Gemma, Steph, Ceris and Ann Lewis, who had reached the final of the Welsh Women’s Bowling Association rinks event.
Those who had represented the men’s Pembrokeshire and the West Welsh Ladies county teams were also congratulated, as were those who had won county titles.
Finally, he thanked all those who had supported him in the nine years that he had organised all club open tournaments, as well as the 17 in-house competitions and wife Kath for her loyalty and support at all times.
Club president Ann Lewis then led the presentation ceremony, assisted by Paul and club chairman Myrddin Dennis.
This was followed by a buffet that had been prepared by vice-chairlady Diane Rigden, who was thanked together with club secretary Sue Roden, who had manned the bar, for their contributions.
Finally, both Ann and Myrddin offered their thanks to Diane, Sue, those who had donated raffle prizes and particularly Paul for all his hard work.
