Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim were delighted this week to present a cheque for £250 to Splash Out!

Splash Out is unique to Pembrokeshire and is the only event of its kind offering free surf experiences specifically tailored for children with severe special needs here in Wales.

Now in its second year, Splash Out has been seen as a great success and really did enable the children who took part in the day to be more confident, trusting and relaxed.

It delivered core coastal safety educational messages as well as acting as a family bonding experience enjoyed by all.

Martyn Williams, chairman of Saundersfoot NYDS, said: "Our ethos for the swim is to raise money for charitable and worthwhile causes.

"This is a local initiative and meets that criteria and we are delighted to support it. Hopefully we will be one of many local organisations who will assist in funding this project".
