CAREW’S Quaynotes Choir now really looking forward to singing at the Penally Abbey Hotel ‘Carols by Candlelight’ event on Tuesday, December 23.
The Quaynotes are a popular mixed choir based in Carew, Pembrokeshire. Singing a wide range of music - entertaining audiences and helping to raise money for good causes, charities, community organisations and local churches - the choir welcomes all comers.
So far this Christmas Season they have sung in wonderful, evocative Concerts at Templeton Church; at Monkton Priory Church’s Christmas tree festival; Ashdale Care Home and at Carew Castle’s Glow event.
The choir’s programme includes carols such as Once in Royal David’s City, a traditional Normandy arrangement of Away in a Manger, A Maiden most Gentle (a French traditional Melody) and also Still, Still, Still – a German carol! After they have sung their way around Europe they then move to some wonderful pieces by John Rutter and also Bethlehem from the musical Martin Guerre. Jingle Bells also features!
The concert at Penally Abbey starts at 6pm. Everyone is welcome and we will be asking for donations towards PATCH, Pembrokeshire at the end of the concert.
Please note that there is limited parking, so those coming along are requested to park in the village or at Penally railway station.
