Children from Classes 5 and 6 at Templeton School recently unveiled new history interpretation boards situated at Templeton Airfield.
The boards, showing the multi-user footpaths and depicting some of the history of the Second World War airfield, were researched and designed by Templeton Heritage Group.
With the assistance of PLANED, their design was transferred onto interpretation boards and situated at two of the entrances to the airfield.
Basil Foraud, who designed the boards, gave a brief talk about the airfield and its history, before the children unveiled the board at the Thomas Chapel entrance.
Also present at the opening were representatives from PLANED, Templeton Community Council and Templeton Community Association and Templeton Heritage Group.
Everyone then walked across the airfield, stopping to hear from Basil significant details that they encountered on the walk to the second board at Peter's Finger.
After unveiling this board, the children crossed over to Peter's Finger Lane, where they enjoyed refreshments, before setting off back to school via the multi-user footpath.
