Issues concerning a lane in Narberth being blocked by food waste have been raised once again by the town’s Deputy Mayor.

The issue originally came up at meeting of the town council in October, when it was claimed that people from nearby flats had taken their rubbish and left it in the road.

During the council’s meeting on Tuesday night, Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees said she had been to take a look at Back Lane to see if anything had changed.

However, she said the road was once again blocked and urged fellow councillors to take photos to highlight the problem.

She also claimed that the police were in denial.

Clr. Rees had previously described the situation on Back Lane as ‘scandalous’ and had also said that a constituent could no longer park his car at his house because of it, meaning that he now had to pay £2 a day to park in the main car park.

She felt that if it was the High Street something would have been done about it.
