94-year-old Ted Owens - a former Royal Marine Commando, from from Pembroke Dock, and former motorcycle despatch rider, 95-year-old Gordon Prime, of Jameston, will be two of 300 veterans of the Allied wartime operation on board the cruise ship Boudicca funded by the Royal British Legion, heading to the commemorations in France on June 6.
Ted recently launched his book ‘Ted the Welsh Goat Hero’ in his home town of Pembroke Dock, after working with the Pembroke and Monkton History Society, to publish the 80-page book.
Gordon who is the president of the Tenby branch of the Royal British Legion, was recently made an honorary member of the organisation’s bikers’ branch.
