Fire Officer
Chestnut class had a visit from the fire officer who came to school to talk to them about fire safety and the role of the fire brigade in Pembrokeshire. The children all thoroughly enjoyed his visit and the question and answer session he held after his talk.
Bluestone Water Safety
Two lifeguards from Bluestone Holiday Park came to give the children in Willow and Rowan a talk about water safety. They highlighted the key issues faced when either in a swimming pool or at sea. Rowan class (Years 5 and 6) were then taken to the outdoor classroom for a water safety workshop as a follow up to this and learned some practical skills and basic first aid. Many thanks to Bluestone for organising this initiative, it was fun but also really informative for the children.
Outdoor Classroom
All of the children have made great use of the outdoor classroom during the recent spell of good weather. Some of the children from Chestnut class even enjoyed a game of Jenga.
Pembrokeshire Activity Centre
Children from Year 6 spent an exciting day at the Activity Centre. The day included a trip on a power boat up the river towards Lawrenny, jumping in a minibus to Barafundle Bay where they went coasteering in and around the caves. All the children had a fantastic time it was a justified treat for all their good behaviour and hard work throughout the academic year. As always, thanks to the staff from the centre and the children would like to say a big thank you to Mr. Perkins and Mrs. Harden for accompanying them on all the activities.
Museum Visit
Rowan class also spent a morning at Narberth Museum to view Mr. Chris Stephens's collection of embroidered samplers which were on display there. The children really enjoyed the activities and especially making their own designs.
