Fresh produce grown in the gardens of a Pembrokeshire luxury country house will be served up in its new restaurant.

The Grove Restaurant, near Narberth, opens later this month in an 18th century mansion where for decades a kitchen garden had supplied food for the families who lived there.

Neil Kedward and Zoe Agar, who have recently restored The Grove to its former glory and opened it providing luxury country house accommodation, were keen not only to restore the property, but to revive the gardens too.

With an emphasis on seasonal produce on a menu that will be changed monthly, they will open their new restaurant to the public on Friday, November 28, just in time for the festive season.

"We aim to source as many of the vegetables as possible from our kitchen garden. There really is nothing quite like the taste of vegetables carefully prepared for a dish within an hour or so of picking,' says Neil.

Whilst the garden is establishing itself, he says they will source vegetables locally where possible.

The walled garden at The Grove is being restored, too, where an orchard will be planted in the spring to supply some local varieties of fruit for the restaurant.

Neil says the restaurant will focus on fresh food, "simply presented, but immaculately prepared, at honest prices.'

"We have been lucky enough to eat at some wonderful restaurants and we hope that over time we can recreate that experience for our customers here at The Grove Restaurant,' says Neil.
