Pembrokeshire has being do it’s bit for Children in Need today, with plenty of charity activities taking place around the county.

Tenby Observer staff joined in the fun at the Overhang Climbing Wall in Tenby, by taking part in the centre’s Everest Challenge.

Meanwhile, local Government officer Mathew Lamb put his best foot forward for Children in Need, by walking to work on Friday morning – 15 miles from his home in Fishguard.

Popularly known as ‘Minty’, Mathew, a senior finance officer with Pembrokeshire County Council in Haverfordwest, set off at 4 am and braved thunder, lightning and gale force winds before reaching the safety of County Hall three hours and 50 minutes later.

And that wasn’t the end of his fund-raising.

He then began a vow of silence to help collect even more cash for Children in Need.

By mid-morning his trek had already raised £400.
