COMMUNITY spirit will take centre stage at Carew Castle this winter, as a host of local choirs and musical groups bring festive cheer to the ever-popular Glow illuminations.
For three weekends, Glow will transform Carew Castle into a winter wonderland, with twinkling trails through the grounds and enchanting new displays lighting up the Castle interior.
Live music will add to the magic, with performances scheduled each weekend in the atmospheric Lesser Hall. Audiences can expect a heartwarming mix of choral harmonies, festive favourites and family-friendly performances – all set against the backdrop of one of Pembrokeshire’s most iconic landmarks.
Confirmed performers include Sing Youth Gospel Choir, Manorbier-based shanty group Cockles and Mussels, Redberth Community Choir, Serendipity - a ladies’ choir based in Narberth, Choirs for Good Haverfordwest, and Côr-y-Môr from Saundersfoot.
Pembroke’s Cleddau Flute Choir will be playing a wide range of musical styles from folk to pop, film themes, jazz and classical, and there will also be an appearance by Haverfordwest brother and sister acoustic duo Tom and Abz. The popular Quaynotes and Gioelli vocal groups are also lined up to perform, with a few slots still available for additional local groups.
Daisy Hughes, Manager of Carew Castle, said: “The choir nights are always a highlight of Glow. It’s a chance for the community to come together, showcase local talent and celebrate the season in a truly magical setting. We’re delighted to have so many brilliant groups on board again this year.”
Glow at Carew Castle runs from 4.30pm to 7.30pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between November 28 and December 14. Entry is by pre-booked ticket only, available via the National Park Authority’s website.
