Following the presentation of a new Suzuki motorcycle to Blood Bikes Wales (Pembrokeshire) on December 18, Andrew Watson decided to continue in his late wife’s memory to raise funds for Blood Bike Wales (Pembrokeshire).
The new motorcycle was named Sarah in memory of Mrs. Watson who died last January after a long period of illness.
On January 26, Andrew held a fundraising event at the Hotel Plas Hyfryd in Narberth. This event was a head shave. Due to the coldness at this time of year, many of his friends said he was crazy.
After the monthly meeting at the hotel, Andrew took his place in the centre of the hotel’s function room where an appropriate member of Blood Bikes began to shave Andrew’s head.
As can be seen from the photographs, his head was shaved. In memory of Sarah, his late wife, he kept his beard. In the audience was Sarah’s daughter Vienna who thought Andrew was crazy, but she was impressed with him for doing the event.
Blood Bikes Wales (Pembrokeshire) is 100 per cent voluntary with the members and charitable donations funding the operation of the motorcycles. The tasks that they will handle cover any out of hour’s transportation of essential or time critical samples, blood and vaccines between NHS locations around the country saving the NHS a vast amount every year.

Andrew would like to thank all the people who have contributed to this event and he will be continuing to support this group of worthy people for as long as he is able to.
