Members of the National Assembly's Enterprise and Business Committee visited Narberth yesterday (Thursday) as part of their inquiry into the regeneration of town centres in Wales.

The visit, hosted by the town's chamber of trade, was an opportunity to gather evidence from business people and customers in the town which will feed into the committee's report and recommendations.

Last year, the chamber of trade submitted a petition to the National Assembly's Petitions Committee calling on the Welsh Government to conduct an impact assessment on how businesses in the town will be affected by the changes in rateable values.

"We have already received some compelling evidence as part of our inquiry," said Nick Ramsay AM, chair of the enterprise and business committee.

"This is a chance to meet face-to-face with traders and customers in a town centre environment to see for ourselves the challenges town centres face and how they can be addressed."
