A Milford man has been fined on court after admitting possessing a quantity of cannabis after police carried out a search warrant at an address.
Thirty-six-year-old Simon James Gutteridge, of Richard John Road, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, to admit a charge of possessing 0.2 grams of cannabis resin in Pembroke Dock.
Prosecutor Dennis Davies told the court that police carried out a search warrant at the town’s Dimond Street on September 11 of last year.
“A small piece of cannabis resin was found on a coffee table at the premises, and when interviewed by police Mr. Gutteridge admitted it was his and that he planned to smoke it.
“He has a number of against him,” added Mr. Davies.
Defence solicitor Mike Kelleher told the court that it was a really small amount of cannabis and although he would hesitate to criticise the police, he felt that on this occasion the matter could have been dealt with in another way.
Magistrates fined the defendant £80 for the offence and ordered her to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
