Tenby Tennis Club had two events over the Easter holidays.
The first was a tournament for the older players, which saw some brilliant tennis and very close matches. Indeed some rivalries were battled out on court with great passion and skill and were extremely entertaining.
This was a fun tournament, but was a great opportunity for our players to put into practice all that they have learnt during the winter indoor club sessions, and it was most impressive to see how far they have come and the skills they produce. It really was a great display of excellent tennis and good sportsmanship in a very friendly atmosphere.
We also held an Easter camp for slightly younger players, which was frantic fun, with tennis games, cardio or ‘disco’ tennis and competitions. This was a huge success and it was lovely to see so many happy children having fun playing tennis, and it was lovely to welcome back some old players and welcome several new faces too.
Tenby Tennis Club will be back to our usual coaching sessions every Tuesday and hope to be on the outside courts at Greenhill School (weather permitting) from this week. We meet every Tuesday during term-time, all year round, and our aim is to help young players achieve the skills and confidence to play tennis for life by getting them playing as soon as possible, helping them learn the fundamental skills and encouraging them to play regularly in team competition. We aim to create an environment where players can experience fun, learning, excitement, social interaction, success and competition all year round. We have three classes from 3.30-7.30 pm each Tuesday for four to 18-year-olds of all levels of ability.
