UNDER 8s
The Under 8s travelled to Haverfordwest in the sunshine on Sunday to play two games of rugby.
Captain for the first game against Haverfordwest was Lucy. The second game was against Crymych and captain was Jack.
The whole team showed excellent strength and determination and their performance was possibly the best so far this season!
All gave 100 per cent and, despite being tired and slowing down a little towards the end of the second game, the Swifts fought on.
All teams worked exceptionally hard and tries didn’t come easy! Tenby won their first game against Haverfordwest 2-1, but lost against Crymych, who played superbly and won by three tries to two.
A very difficult decision for coach Darren Davies this week as all players had played fantastically, but the trophy for most improved of the day went to Connor Davies and the top try scorer was awarded to Lewis Rossiter.
Other tries were well scored by Connor and Jack.
Well done to all of you! Keep it up!
Round Robin Success for Under 7s
After a disappointing day for Welsh Rugby, Tenby Swifts Under 7s arrived at Haverfordwest with a strong squad for a round robin versus the hosts and Crymych, ready to prove that Welsh rugby can still produce some magic.
The first game against Crymych saw a strong defensive team display and some excellent solo efforts which resulted in a one-sided match and saw some excellent tries scored, with Iestyn Barrellie showing some centre talents by running in three of them.
Ethan Lewis captained the side and again led by example, organising his defensive line and making sure everyone knew what was expected of them.
More tries from the likes of Jack Henson and George McDonald saw Tenby cruse to an 8-4 win.
Special mention to Cory Stephens who went on an amazing run and popped the ball off to set-up a well-executed try.
The second game against the hosts showed just as much grit and determination as the first; however, Alex Stock and Amelia Marsh stole the show, by being mobile around the park, making numerous tackles and scoring some excellent tries.
Another amazing team effort paid off, with Tenby winning 8-3.
Man of the match went to Ryan Robertson, who is still very new to the game, but wasn’t long switching on and making some really important tags.
An excellent day throughout for all players, coaches and supporters.
