’Fat lads at the back’ 75 mile cycle sportive ‘up North’ in Ilkley, Yorkshire riding through the beautiful countryside - Katherine Devonald Brace coming in 2nd Lady and Tim Brace (coming in 3rd Lady haha - that’s what Kath said!).
Preseli Beast 24 mile run - Pat Swann 4hrs 02 and Will Lewis 4hrs 51 mins and the Preseli Bach 11 mile run - Jessie Davies 3hrs 10. Both these races are classed as ‘Fell and Off’ Road running events both starting and finishing in the village of Maencloghog. The route takes runners over the Mountains up as far as Newport for the runners to ‘Tame the Beast’.
The Big East Triathlon (Middle Distance) - Burnham on Crouch, Essex - Edward Clements coming in a 2nd Place in 4hrs 21 and Sahar Khan coming in 5th lady in 5hrs 53 - Ed tells me the Bike Course 5 miles short!
Statford Shakespeare Marathon - Mandy Draper 4hrs 26. This event is organized by Rotary International with the route running through the Historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon and into the beautiful Warwickshire Countryside.
Carten100 - From four riders in 2004, to a whopping 2500 riders in 2017 including many Aces over the past 13 years! This year 38 members took the challenge of riding the 100 miles from Cardiff to Tenby has just kept growing. Carten100 is a ‘not for profit’ fund raising venture, run by volunteers so we can benefit our chosen charities as much as possible. This year was the Velindre and the ‘Closer to Home’ Cancer Care Charites. The cycle ride (108 approx) start from Cardiff City hall takes place roughly over a ten hour period taking a fairly direct route Tenby’s Tudor Square, using A-Roads, B-Roads and cycle routes. There are some climbs, none too difficult, but in Wales there is not a lot of flat land! On arriving in Tenby riders carried on down to a marquee on the Harbour where the Lions hosted mush needed and appreciated refreshments!

Club Rides - All rides will leave Tenby Leisure centre car park at 6.30 pm. We have three groups - with a sweeper led social group with the intent that no-one gets left behind and all get a ride to suit their abilities. Front & Rear lights a must. Helmets to be worn on all club rides.
Tuesday: Route 70: (Lawrenney and Templeton) - TLC, Gumfreston, Carew, Whitehill, Cresswell Quay, Lawrenney, Martletwy, Molleston, Templeton, Begelley, New Hedges and back to TLC (approx 27 miles). Sweepers Jamie Silvester and Paul Slack
Thursday: Route 9 : (Bluestone) Tenby, New Hedges, Devonshire Drive, Heatherton, Turn right after Heatherton, Jeffreyston, Reynalton, Canaston, Bluestone Roundabout, Canaston, Loveston, Jeffreyston, Broadmoor, Templebar Rd, Pentlepoir, Tenby (approx. 26 miles). Sweepers Nicola and Carlton Coates
