Saundersfoot Sea Angling Club held a match Sunday, May 29, on Amroth beach. Seven anglers competed with all landing hounds - 45 fish were recorded and released, up to 3.925kg.

Results were: 1. Franco Attanasio with a Smoothhound of 3.925kg (10 points); 2. Andy Young with a total length of 6.55m (8 points); 3. Andrew Rogers with 5.06m (6 points).

Midweek match, May 25, at Saundersfoot Harbour result: 1. Joe Protheroe, Bull Huss of 4.025kg (10 points); 2. Peter Taylor (8 points); 3. Tony Ormond (6 points).

Forthcoming events: Sunday, June 12 - Amroth. Sign on at the car park by 6.30 pm, fishing 7 to 11 pm. Weigh-in after match.

Sunday, June 26 - full Rover. Sign on at Kilgetty TIC by 6 am, fishing 7 am til noon, weigh-in at The Galloping Major by 1 pm.

Sunday, July 3 - Manorbier. Sign on at the car park by 2 pm, fishing 3 - 7 pm, weigh-in after the match at the car park.

Sunday, July 17 - Fishguard breakwater, two-rod pegged. Sign on at the gate by 1.30 pm, fishing 2.30 - 6.30 pm. Weigh-in after match, winner will be best specimen fish, then length.

Midweek League - Wednesday, June 22, at Saundersfoot Harbour. Sign on at the car park by 6.15 pm, fishing 7 - 10 pm.

Wednesday, July 27, at Coppett Hall. Same times, same rules.

Leader to date in the midweek matches - Llew Rose with 44 ponts. Top rod at end of May - Andrew Rogers with 61 points.

Finally, it is clear that some are not aware of the new restrictions regarding bass fishing by recreational anglers - please note that no bass may be taken before July 1 and then only one fish per angler per day.
