Hello readers! This Sunday saw the next two races of this year take place in the glorious sunshine and steady F2-3 breeze. Ten boats took to the water to enjoy a sail in this lovely weather. A figure of eight race course of Outfall-Amroth-Monkstone-Harbour was set by the OOD. The first beat was competitive between the fast fleet, with Ed rounding the mark first followed by Dave G, then Maurice and Paul and Julia, with Keith hot on their heels. A good fast reach suited the whole fleet with a longer beat from Amroth to Monkstone, before the final leg which was a broad reach from Monkstone to Harbour. Ed was the winner of the first race, with Paul and Julia in second and Dave P in third place.

As the wind had settled into a steady F2-3 with a constant direction, the second race was run on the same course. The OOD got distracted watching Dave P to see if he would make it back to the line for the start and completely missed the one minute gun! This didn’t seem to affect the fleet though as they all set off at the correct time. It was another good race with a nice steady breeze which made it enjoyable for everyone. Once again, Ed was the winner of this race, with Paul and Julia in second and Dave G in third. Thanks as always to James and Alison on safety cover and Jo on OOD assisted by Steve and Clare.

On Saturday, the England versus Sweden was put on the big screen in the clubhouse and the bar was opened. Everyone enjoyed watching the footie and seeing England through to the semi-finals!
