Tumble 14 pts. Whitland 52

Already assured of promotion, Whitland moved top of the division two west table last weekend with another big win.

This time it was Tumble who suffered at the hands of the impressive Borderers, who, for the third Saturday in a row, clocked up more than a half-century of points.

Indeed, the green and whites have been simply irrepressible in recent weeks and their opponents just had no answer to their free-flowing play as they increased their season’s try haul by another eight.

Again speedy winger Sean Coles led the way with a hat-trick of touchdowns, while others came from fullback Aaron Ebsworth, with two, Jack Mason, Liam Price and fly-half Nico Setaro, who also landed six conversions for a personal haul of 17 points.

Whitland were due to play Yr Hendy on Wednesday evening in what could well prove the title decider. Before the game, both were tied at the top on 85 points, with the Borderers having a better points difference as well as a game in hand.
