On Sunday, Tenby Under 8s (seen right) travelled to Pembroke RFC, where they played a round robin with Haverfordwest.
Tenby won their first game against Pembroke 12-5, with Iori as captain. In the second game, Haverfordwest won 9-6, with Sonny captain.
In both games there was some quick passing, good tagging and a great defensive display, all working together as a team to score great tries!
Well done to Iori Evans who was man-of-the-match this week

Under 9s Host Successful Festival
Last Sunday saw 11 teams attend a full day of rugby at the Clicketts organised by the home team.
Tenby (seen right) played four games which the children thoroughly enjoyed, with all of them volunteering to help out other teams who were short of players, showing great sportsmanship.
Tenby were captained by Madoc Evans and everyone put in a great effort, the captain’s play was particularly good, earning him man-of-the-match.
A huge thank you to all who helped make the day a great success, in particular the players from all teams who showcased some great rugby in their first season of contact.
All monies raised from this event will go towards improving the facilities at the Clicketts for the future.
UNDER 10s
Last Sunday, Tenby Under 10s travelled away to play a round robin against St. Clears and Llangwm.
Llangwm were to be Tenby’s first opponents and both teams showed great strength from the first whistle.
The Seasiders were putting in some big tackles, but Llangwm were persistent in their pressure and eventually, just before half-time, they were able to cross for their first.
In the second half, Llangwm came out strong again, and with possession in their control they were able to cross for try two.
Tenby were to respond quickly, though, and after the ball was won on the floor by their forwards, it was spun out to Connor, who carved his way through Llangwm’s defence to score.
This was quickly followed by a fantastic individual effort by Rowen, who side-stepped his way through the Llangwm defensive line to score in the corner.
Llangwm were a side whose strength up front allowed them to gain vital territory and eventually went over for their third.
With only a few minutes left on the clock, Tenby regrouped and in the dying seconds took the opportunity to move the ball out wide to a waiting Connor, who crossed the line to draw the score at 15-15 just as the final whistle blew.
Tenby were straight back on to the pitch to play their second game against St. Clears, who came out quick and gained an opportunity to pass the ball out wide and cross for the opening try.
But the Seasiders were able to respond straightaway, when their forwards secured possession and the backs moved the ball out to Rowen, who seized the chance to dart through the St. Clears defence and score.
Tenby, you could see, were enjoying the way the game was flowing and taking any opportunity to run the ball that they could. Soon it was Alfie out on the wing who would find himself with some space to score his first.
This was quickly followed by try number three for the Seasiders when Alfie again was to see a gap and take full advantage, diving over for his second.
The momentum was fully with the Seasiders and it was the forwards who would see their hard work rewarded when Jaiden stole ball in the breakdown and picked up the ball himself to nip over for try four.
Going into the second half it would be St. Clears who would be given the first chance and soon went over for their second of the day.
The Seasiders hit straight back, though, with fast ball finding Connor, who with a perfectly timed pop pass put Jack over the try line.
St. Clears were soon to cross in the corner for their third, but Tenby responded again when a loose ball saw them regain possession and Connor crossed in the opposite corner.
Play remained in the St. Clears half and when a knock-on saw a scrum awarded to Tenby, Rowen saw the gap to crash over the line for try seven.
With seconds remaining, Tenby took their last chance of possession to create space out wide to allow Jack to cross for try eight.
Final score was 40-15 to the Seasiders.
UNDER 12s
Last Sunday, Tenby Swifts Under 12s (seen below in their new training tops) travelled east into Carmarthenshire to play their first ever fixture against Llandybie, on the outskirts of Ammanford. The pitch looked in fine condition on a bright but chilly morning and the young Seasiders kicked off playing into the breeze.
The early stages of the game saw mistakes from both sides, but the scrappy opening was soon over, as great forward drives saw the ball swept along the backline for an unconverted try wide out.
This try gave the Swifts confidence to move the ball at every opportunity and saw two further scores follow in quick succession. However, the home side did not let their heads drop and excellent work by their forwards driving down field saw them score two tries of their own.
As has happened often in recent weeks, the young Seasiders seem to raise their game when under pressure and some great work by the forward pack retaining possession led to a well-worked move by the backs, resulting in a super score under the posts. This was the final action of the first half, with the score 26-10 to the Swifts.
After the break and with the slight breeze at their backs, the superior fitness of the away team certainly began to tell. Despite a number of dubious penalties awarded against them, the forwards kept their composure and continued to win scrums against the head and turnover ball at rucks, which gave the backs a stream of quality ball to show off their skills.
And this they did with some fabulous rugby resulting in some lovely tries, much to the delight of the Seasiders supporters on the sideline.
In all, four tries were scored without reply, the pick of them seeing them score from inside their own 22-metre line with virtually all the team touching the ball in the build-up.
As the game drew to a close, the home side scored a deserved consolation score, which went unconverted. The referee then blew the whistle to end the game, the final result being 52-15 to Tenby Swifts.
A very entertaining game played in good spirits both on and off the pitch.
The Swifts squad in the photo showing off their new training top together with try scorers were Jake, Cairan, Harri (2), Max J (3), Fletcher (1), Josh (1), Cameron, Iori B (1), Joe, Max H, Iorri R, Dylan, Alex, Duane-Lee, Ollie and Kyle.
