Narberth 39 pts. Cardiff Met 6
Another convincing performance by the Otters set up an emphatic 39-6 home win over Cardiff Met.
As a result, Narberth have moved up into third spot in the table at the expense of their opponents.
Normally games between the two teams are rather even contests, but on this occasion a good all round display by the Narberth pack and backs, prevented the Students from playing
Up front, the Students were outpowered and there was some impressive handling and defence-splitting running by the backs.
When club captain Alex Jenkins led his team out after a 45 minutes delay due to the absence of the referee, he received a standing ovation to mark his achievement in making 201 first team appearance for the club,
Narberth led by 13-6 at the interval, despite playing against the wind. Flanker James Bain and wing Liam Hutchings both scored tries.
Bain powered over from a pack move near the line and Hutchings made a spectacular run to finish a handling movement.
Fullback Nick Gale’s conversion attempts were blown off target by the wind.
Centre Tom Morgan slotted over two penalties for the Students.
In the second half, Met were really up against the elements, with wind driving into their faces on top of the rain.
Having got on top, the Otters did not relax their grip and took the game away from the visitors with some superb rugby.
Penetrative centre Jack Price burst through for a brace of tries.
Number eight Steffan Phillips added another and Liam Hutchings picked up his second try of the game to complete the scoring for the afternoon.
Nick Gale converted three of the tries.
The Students never threw in the towel, but were unable to get back into the game.

In a match where everyone had an input, there were other notable performances by the Narberth front row and the centre combinations of Jack Price, Ollie Reyland and replacement Joe Hutchings.
