There was some controversy concerning the postponement of the game at the Lewis Lloyd ground at Narberth last Saturday.
Opponents Skewen RFC inspected the playing area at 1.30 pm with the referee and Narberth club officials and considered the area in front of the stand to be frozen and were not prepared to play.
An attempt was made to persuade the visitors to re-examine the area immediately before kick-off at 2.30 pm, but they maintained the area would be frozen. The referee was then forced to declare the game off.
When 2.30 pm arrived, the ground was playable, but by then Skewen had left.
In the clubhouse, disappointed Otters supporters had to content themselves with an enjoyable afternoon of fellowship instead.
It seems that the referee is forced to call the game off when one team declares the ground unfit as it brings into play the implications of insurance.
Up in the Preselis, Narberth Athletic played Crymych Seconds in colder conditions, winning 16-12.
