Whitland were brought back down to earth with a bump on Saturday. After being on a high following their first league win of the season against Gorseinon a fortnight ago, it was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show last weekend, as they crashed to a 43-8 defeat at Gowerton.
Their hosts have not been having the best of seasons themselves, but on the day they were far too good for the Borderers as they ran in a total of seven tries.
The game was just about done and dusted by the interval, with Whitland’s only points in the opening half coming from the boot of Nico Setaro with two penalties.
Things did improve a little in the second period, but tries from Deian Augusts and Fola Dario, one of which was converted by Setaro, was too little too late.
