The first Dyfed Junior Order of Merit event of the season was held at Tenby Golf Club last Friday. A total of 58 youngsters, representing 13 golf clubs with ages ranging from six to 17 years, competed.
The weather was kind to the players and their supporters, dry, overcast with a cool breeze. The Tenby Links was in excellent condition and this made for some outstanding scoring.
All golfing abilities were catered for in five competition categories, with the results being as follows:
Six-Hole Modified Stableford - Gruff Jones, Archie Noyce, Lilly Jenkins, Isaac Noyce, winner Tomi Jac Regan - Cilgwyn, 37 pts.
Six-Hole Black Tee Stableford - 3rd Tomas Carlson, 2nd Ollie Morris, 1st and winner of the Dassen Adams Cup, Caio Morgan - Glyn Abbey, 21 pts.
Nearest the pin - 6th hole -Tomas Carlson.
Yellow Tee 18-Hole Stableford - 3rd Oliver King, 32 pts, 2nd Sam Jones, 42 pts, 1st and winner of the Pembs. Gas Cup, Euan Devlin - Glyn Abbey, 43 pts.
Nearest the pin - 6th hole Oliver Kin.
Girls 18-Hole Medal - 3rd Maisie Millichip 110-34-76, 2nd Marni Copeland 92-17-75, 1st and winner of the Ian Thomas Cup, Kasumi Tran-Tenby, 78-6-72.
Lowest Gross score - Kasumi Tran.
Nearest the pin - 6th hole - Nel Allen.
Boys 18 hole Medal - 3rd Dion Regan 87-16-71, 2nd Tom Wright 89-19-70, 1st and winner of the Tenby Open Shield, Theo Bailey - Glynhir, 86-18-68.
Lowest Gross score - Iestyn McAvoy, Glynhir, 75.
Nearest the pin - 6th hole - Sean Hazelby.
There were four 2s recorded - Ollie Morris - 6th hole, Megan Thomas - 6th hole, Hollie Jenkins - 17th hole and Tom Wright on the par four ninth hole.
