New Minerton saw the start of the sunny bank holiday weekend playing at Derllys Court, Meidrim.

All the players at New Minerton are very proud and grateful for the sponsorship received from Thomas Davies, of New Minerton Leisure Park, for their new golf attire for the summer season.

Once again we enjoyed the sunshine in our second game of the tournament, which kicked off with the ‘big guns’.

It was Jamie with a fine drive down the fairway, with a quick reshuffle of our new 2018 handicaps. The competitiveness during the game escalated quickly, although the scenes and panoramic surrounding was breathtaking and slightly distracting from the sixth green. But all players maintained their level of concentration and skill throughout.

A massive thank you to all staff for a warm welcome on our arrival, where we were welcomed by a very tasty breakfast and coffee. Continuing their kind hospitality, after a hot day of some intense golfing we sat down and enjoyed a meal and delicious dessert, kindly provided by Derllys Court Golf Club.

The results for this second tournament of the season were as follows:

In first place was Nick Hendy, second place was snapped up by Dr. Dennis and third was Keith Thomas.

Longest drive was played by Nick Hendy, continuing his success throughout the game. Nearest to pin was played by Colin.

Overall, a very well played and enjoyable game, accompanied by outstanding weather. Well done to all players for maintaining their high standards of play throughout.

Our next tournament game will take place on June 2, when we will be playing at Haverfordwest Golf Club. All players are keen and ready to perform.
