ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

At the Annual General Meeting held at the clubhouse last week, the following members were elected to serve as officers for the next 12 months: president - Ann Lewis, chairman - Myrddin Dennis, secretary - Steph Amos, treasurer - David Davies, vice-chairperson - Diane Rigden, fixture secretary, competitions secretary, county delegate and press secretary - Paul Blayney, club captain - Graham Hughes, vice-captain - Sue Roden, other county delegates - Berwyn Dennis, Steph Amos and Diane Rigden, committee members - Joe Dennis, Brian Deeley, Steve Dick, Lynne Reyed, Val James, Sue Roden and Christine Harris.

It was also unanimously decided that the late Allen Brace be given a place on the members honours board in recognition of the many years of service that he gave to the club.

EVENTS

Next Thursday, December 7, there will be a prize bingo evening at the club where members and their guests will be made most welcome.

Caller for the evening will be Graham Hughes, so there will be much laughter, as well as a chance to win one of the many prizes that will be on offer.

The annual members Christmas party will be held on Friday, December 15, the eagerly-anticipated ‘Who is the culprit’ evening, produced by Lynne Reyed is on Friday, January 19, and a quiz evening, presented by Dennis Reed and Graham Hughes, will take place on Tuesday, February 13.

JOHN ARMAN

Members were shocked last week to learn of the sudden tragic passing of John Arman.

Although only joining the club relatively recently, John was always on hand to help when required, serving on the bar, opening the green on Monday mornings to welcome any visitors who wished to play, marking matches and, of course, playing for St. Issell’s.

He will be sadly missed and sympathy is extended to his wife Jean and family.

The funeral is due to take place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium in Narberth at 10.45 am on Friday, December 8.

COMMITTEE MEETING

The first meeting of the new committee will be held next Tuesday, December 5, commencing at 6 pm.
