What a massive result for the Heatherton premier team (sponsored by ACE and G. D. Harries), on Saturday, taking an unexpected victory off a strong Swansea side in an away game.
Heatherton won on three rinks, and lost on three, but managed to keep the scores tight right up to the very end of the game.
A special mention must go to Richard Whittaker, who playing skip for the first time in the premier league this season, held his nerve to play the final and most crucial shot of the match - his controlled running wood picked up the jack (which was nestled between four Swansea bowls) and ran through to his four back woods, giving Heatherton a brilliant overall win.
Heatherton are now lying fifth on the premiership leaderboard, with a home game to be played tomorrow (Saturday) against Cynon Valley.
Scores were (Heatherton first, Swansea skips only):
C. James, R. Court, A. Hooper, R. Thomas 14; J. Williams 21.
