PFWI has had a very busy time, with one of the highlights in the calendar year being the Rose Bowl County Round
This was held at the Pavilion, Withybush Showground recently. It was wonderful to see so many members and general public come along in the afternoon to appreciate all the work that WI members had put into their exhibits.
Congratulations to all who entered the competition this year. The theme “All Things Bright and Beautiful” gave plenty of scope for colourful creations and the overall effect of the 14 displays was tremendous. The judges were thrilled by the entries and commended the high standards produced by PFWI ladies, especially in the Craft entries. The results are: Rose Bowl 1st place Puncheston and District WI winning the Golden Jubilee Perpetual Cup, 2nd place Tavernspite WI and 3rd place Ludchurch WI.
Floral Cup was won by Cosheston WI. A public choice craft vote was taken during the afternoon and was won by Cosheston WI with their beautiful exhibit of Porcelain Flame Lilies. The winners now go forward to represent Pembrokeshire at the Royal Welsh Show in July.
Next year’s topic will be “ A Welsh Myth or Legend”. The anticipated date will be Wednesday April 24, 2024.
Mary Haughton, chair of Home Crafts was overwhelmed by the standard of the competition, she thanked all the WIs who had entered, and everyone else who had helped to make it such a successful day.
