Tenby Town Council have offered their support to the community once again during the ‘fire-break’ lockdown.
Members of the council along with volunteers from the locality formed the ‘Tenby Together’ Facebook group at the start of the initial lockdown in March when the pandemic hit, with the group gaining over 3,000 followers.
Now once again, a reminder of the support available through the town council offices and the community is being offered up.
“As we go into winter, attempts to supress Covid-19 across the country are still ongoing,” said the town clerk Andrew Davies.
“Even when the national Firebreak lockdown ends on November 9, limited localised lockdowns still remain a possibility.
“We know everyone is playing their part to limit contact with others where possible to help reduce transmission.
“However, we understand that it may not be possible to do so without support.
“Tenby Town Council, the Tenby Together Volunteer Group and many other volunteer groups in and around Tenby are there to offer you that support if needed,” he continued.
The Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said that the priority was keeping everyone ‘safe and supported’ during the fire-break lockdown.
“We have great businesses in Tenby – they helped us last time and I know that they are ready to help us this time too,” she said.
“Whether it be groceries, essential supplies or take-away food, I know that Tenby businesses will provide great quality and great service. Let’s make sure we support them as they support us.
“Tenby Together volunteers are ready to help. There are also other groups offering support. And we can all help – whether checking on a neighbour or calling a friend – collecting a prescription or picking up some shopping.
“It is a difficult time again but let’s make sure that we see the best of Tenby as we look out for each other,” continued the Mayor.
Anyone who requires assistance is asked to please contact the town council office on 01834 842730 (9.30 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday).
“If we are unable to assist directly, we will be able to put you in touch with someone who can,” added Mr. Davies.
