Tenby Town Council will write to all of the political parties in Welsh Government asking them for a commitment that Ironman Wales stays in Tenby and Pembrokeshire.
This follows another successful event held in Tenby over the weekend.
Thousands of people took part including high-profile athletes such as Shane Williams and Gareth Thomas.
There was widespread praise for the effort Pembrokeshire County Council put in enabling the event, with many people labelling it as ‘outstanding.’
Next year will mark 10 years since the event was first held.
Town clerk Andrew Davies, said the town council wanted reassurances from political parties in the Welsh Government to ensure that Ironman Wales is held in the town for as long as Ironman Wales wants to be here.
