Now well into its fifth decade, judging for the competition took place on 17th July and Bloom chair Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane was delighted with the number of entries this year
“This year’s competition was another great success and it was lovely to see all the hard work people have put in once again,” said Clr. Mrs. Lane.
“Our competitors, both private individuals and the business community, are a real credit to the town,’ she continued, adding that she was delighted to see more shops and retail premises joining in the spirit of the competition this year.
“The tireless efforts everyone puts in to provide us with spectacular results to keep on making Tenby a brighter and tidier place is blooming great and helps us retain our status as the floral resort of Wales.”
Tenby in Bloom president, Mayor of Tenby Clr. Tony Brown was in attendance with his mace bearers Rev. John Morgan and Mrs. Denise Cousins to assist Clr. Mrs. Lane present the awards to successful entrants in the various categories on Wednesday morning.
Overall winners, picking up the Serendipity Holdings Rose Bowl, were Mr. and Mrs. Thornton, of Narberth Road.
The Tenby in Bloom committee would particularly like to thank all those that attended the awards ceremony and to Mrs. Lesley Fisher and all at the Tenby House Hotel for hosting it.
