Tenby Town Council are looking for a new member after one of their representatives stepped down.

The town clerk, Andrew Davies, told councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night, that Clr. Ben James, of Upper Hill Park, had informed him of his decision to leave the council, due to having less time to ‘dedicate himself to the role’ because of increased work responsibilities and having young children.

Clr. James, who works as an IT technician at Greenhill School, and serves as a crew member of Tenby Lifeboat, as well as being one of the local First Responder volunteers, was co-opted onto the council back in January of 2016.

“It’s very sad, but we do appreciate his reasons, and regretfully accept his resignation,” said the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane.

Mr. Davies said he would announce a ‘casual vacancy’ to fill the role.
