The eighth annual pancake races and lunch, in aid of Tenby’s RNLI, was another huge success (writes Joanna Thomas).

With 50 children entering the popular races, the sum of £150 was raised from just the races. Thanks go to the companies who sponsored the races with a prize for each winner. A big thank you to Amy, who kindly donated a wonderful cake for the raffle prize, which helped to raise a further £30 for the RNLI.

Winners of the races were: three-five years - Bobby Water (age five), Folly Farm tickets; six-eight years - Josh Smith, Oakwood tickets, nine-12 years - Harry Dolovan, private donation of chocolates; adult/chef - Ben Rogers (age 13), private donation of boat wall decoration; crew - Matthew Broadhurst (Tenby’s Number one Tosser) from Tees-R-Us.

The new lunch venue had a good turnout with approximately 20 at the Baytree. Thank you to Karen for hosting this part of the event; organisers look forward to more in the future.

Thank you to all the RNLI crew who volunteer their time to save lives and to entertain with the crew race. As ever this is the highlight of the day. Thank you to the fundraising committee who help to bring this exciting event to fruition. Organisers should have final figures of the monies raised soon. Lastly, thank you to all who attended, without all of you coming out to support us, these events would not be possible.

I look forward to seeing you all again next year for some more flipping fun in 2019.
