Tenby Civic Society will be looking to appoint a new chairman after their current one stepped down from the role at the organisation’s most recent meeting.
At the group’s Executive Committee meeting held last month, changes to the committee were announced, with chairman David Tudor Thomas resigning from the position with immediate effect citing ‘personal reasons’.
Mr. Thomas was charged last year with dishonestly failing to promptly notify the Department for Work and Pensions of a change of circumstances which would affect his entitlement to Pension Credit, and allegedly failing to let the department know that his wife was in work, something that would affect his entitlement to Pension Credit.
He denied the charges when the matter went before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court in August, but at a hearing held at Swansea Crown Court in December, Mr. Thomas pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of failing to give information on a change of circumstance, and was fined £393 for the offence.
A vote of thanks was given by members of the Civic Society for all the hard work Mr. Thomas had contributed, with the plaque renovation being a particular triumph it was noted.
