In his welcoming speech, he thanked Picton Castle for the opportunity to hold this fund-raising event once again, and also thanked Trystan Phillips, the head of music at Ysgol y Preseli, Crymych, for all his help and support in organising the concert.
In welcoming the musicians, he mentioned that they had all been performing, and winning many prizes, at the Urdd Eistedfod in Boncath the week before; so he was particularly grateful to them for giving their time and talents to help the fund-raising.
The very appreciative audience, after enjoying champagne and canapés, were enthralled by the very high standard of music presented, both vocal and instrumental.
The six young musicians featured were (from left) Ffion Phillips (vocal), Esyllt Thomas (vocal), Siriol Jenkins (piano), Lois Davies (piano), Talfan Jenkins (saxophone) and Mared Harries (vocal).
Also in the picture are Trystan Phillips, who accompanied some of the vocalists, and Sarah Benbow, who was also an accompanist. Siriol accompanied her brother Talfan during his performance.
In excess of £300 was raised for Rotary charities.
