Narberth's annual Civic Week got off to a sunshine start on Sunday.
The week-long event began with the civic parade with the procession marching from the Queen's Hall to the new primary school where the civic service was held.
Rev. Huw George was the minister and his sermon was much appreciated by all guests in attendance.
Members of the school choir sang two beautiful songs and three children played instruments.
Civic Week president Wyn Calvin gave a reading and Mayor, Clr. Suzanne Radford-Smith, read a poem.
The procession then made its back round the town to the Queen's Hall, where lunch, provided by Sosban Fach, was served.
Gordon Barry was uest speaker and did a brilliant timeline of Narberth since he moved here 50 years ago and how he felt the town could move on in the future. Wyn Calvin also made a speech as he responded on behalf of the guests.
Arthur Bates was presented with the Narberth person of the year award by Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Ruth Platt and both were visibly moved.
Afterwards, Clr. Radford-Smith said: "I thank everyone who attended my civic service and lunch. It was a beautiful, sunny day and during the procession around the town the visitors saw Narberth at its best.
"Rev. Huw George and the Narberth School children made the service amazing and I was probably the most proud I have ever felt as the children sang and the people of Narberth and the visiting dignataries were there with me.
"The lunch at the Queen's Hall, provided by Sosban Fach was superb.
"My thanks go to everyone who made the day so special, especially members of the Civic Week committee who helped me prepare for the day."
Chairman of Civic Week, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers, commented: "Saving itself for Civic Week, the sun came out for a fantastic start to the event."
