News of Welsh funding has come as the icing on the cake for Narberth Food Festival.
In the week that the event scooped both a gold and a silver award at the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards, the festival's voluntary committee heard that it is to once again receive financial help from the Welsh Government.
Said festival chairman Huw Jones: "The continued support is very welcome, particularly in the current financial climate.
"It means we can keep the cost for stallholders and the public attending the festival at the same level as 2012, whilst still providing the great experience that is the Narberth Food Festival."
The festival won gold for best event at the prestigious awards, and also gained silver in the new category for best access for the disabled visitor.
Added Huw: "This is the second time we've won best event, and the award is a real boost for the festival, as well as Narberth. Narberth Food Festival is firmly on the national map, and it is awards like this which reinforces that message.
"Part of our ethos is that we are a caring event, inclusive to everybody, and so it's great to have recognition of our accessibility for the disabled - particularly the signing we provide at our talks and demonstrations which adds to our facilities for the hearing-impaired "
Narberth Food Festival takes place on the Town Moor, Narberth, on the weekend of September 28 and 29. |Featuring around 50 food and drink stalls, free talks and demonstrations and live music and entertainment, the event is now in its 15th year.
