Councillors in Tenby have invited locals and visitors alike to join in with the festivities being held in the town tomorrow (Saturday) when Santa will arrive in style via lifeboat to turn on the Christmas lights.

The afternoon will begin at 1 pm with entertainment in Tudor Square throughout the afternoon and end with the arrival of Father Christmas into the centre of the town at 5 pm to help the Mayor turn on the town’s Christmas tree lights.

The popular snow machine organised by Tenby House Hotel will also be present in Tudor Square, while Tenby Rotary Club have also confirmed that they will be organising another of their ‘bull runs’ for the day as well.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the Mayor, Clr. Mrs Sue Lane, said that she was looking forward to another special atmosphere in the Square, with her colleague, Clr. Paul Rapi, echoing those thoughts.

“Saturday is an important day for Tenby and the community, so the more support we get in the Square from 1 pm onwards the better - so please come along and join in the festivities,” remarked Clr. Rapi.

Due to the popularity of these events in the past and in the interests of public safety, High Street (from Floral Corner), Tudor Square and St. Julian Street (to its junction with Crackwell Street) will be closed to vehicles from 12 noon to 6 pm to allow people to gather in a traffic-free environment.
