Two students who took part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award scheme recently gave a presentation to their sponsors, the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland.

Nia Espie (left), a Year 11 pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, and Luned Nicholas from Ysgol y Preseli, are pictured here with president of the club, Graham Haddleton, who presented the girls with their certificates.

As part of the RYLA, Rotary Clubs in South Wales can sponsor youngsters to spend a week at Dol y Gaer in the Brecon Beacons, where they are divided into groups and each is given tuition in one of the specialities which they pass on to the remainder of the group. Among the activities tackled are canoeing, caving, abseiling, rock climbing and orienteering.

The girls gave a Powerpoint presentation, with slides of their activities. They both said how they appreciated the opportunity to undertake these activities and how much they had gained from the experience.

Rotarian Rob Elward, who had done the interviews to choose the winners, congratulated them and thanked them for the presentation.
