The competition aims to provide a mechanism for young people to participate, using their writing skills, imagination and creativity.
A total of 54 entries were received from 11 to 13-year-old children, and each entry was judged on use of language, vocabulary, consistency of story, interest, and the ability to complete the work in the required number of words.
The theme for this year's competition was 'Make Dreams Real'.
Winner of the competition was 11-year-old Corinne Yau, a pupil at Dyffryn Taf School.
Corinne is pictured receiving her winner's certificate and prize from the president of the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland, Derek Williams. Runners-up in the competition were Morwenna Jones and Nansi Jones, also from Dyffryn Taf School.
Corinne's winning work now progresses to the next round of the competition, which includes entries from Rotary clubs throughout South Wales.
