RNLI Angle’s all-weather lifeboat was alerted on Friday after a report that a woman had suffered head injuries and bleeding in a fall at Marloes Sands.

The Tamar class lifeboat Mark Mason was launched shortly before 3 pm. When she reached the scene, her Y Boat was deployed and crew members went ashore to offer assistance. However, it was no longer needed as ambulance paramedics had already attended to the casualty.

Due to the swell on the beach, it was decided that the best method of evacuating the woman would be by helicopter. Rescue 169 was requested and the Y Boat’s crew assisted in transporting the casualty into the helicopter.

With no more assistance required, the Y Boat was recovered back to the lifeboat, which was released to return to her station, where she was rehoused just before 5 pm.
