THE Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland are delighted to confirm that their charity concert starring Rhydian at the Follies Theatre, Folly Farm is now ‘sold out.’
The concert, which also features the Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Lucy Kay as ‘special guest,’ will now feature additional guests as Rhydian confirmed that he has also invited West End star Jodie Steel and local talented young musicians, soprano Sioned Llewelyn, of Efailwen, and saxophonist Talfan Jenkins, of Wiseman’s Bridge, to take part.
Jodie’s CV includes both the stage musicals Jesus Christ Superstar and Fame, where she played Carmen, whilst Sioned and Talfan, both former Rotary Young Musicians of The Year, are highly-talented, having won competitions in both the Urdd and National Eisteddfod of Wales on many occasions, amongst many other achievements.
The concert is being sponsored by both Folly Farm and Gravells Kia, of Narberth, and will raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance, the Kidney Wales Foundation, Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign, as well as other Rotary charities supported by the Narberth and Whitland club.
Rotary Club president, Dr. Paul Crawford is, on behalf of the club, extremely grateful to everyone who has supported the concert and said that everyone was looking forward to what promises to be a great night. Reading the very positive reports from other venues that have already seen Rhydian’s ‘One Day Like This’ autumn tour, he said that the lucky ticket holders ‘were in for a real treat.’
He added: “We are also delighted that two local young musicians, Sioned and Talfan will be able to take part in such a prestigious concert, giving them invaluable experience which is sure to stand them in good stead for the future. The concert will begin at 7 pm on November 7, with the venue doors opening at 5.30 pm.
